Laurence Turner: ‘Horns!’

More and more I find myself more excited and interested in the sounds of trumpets, clarinets and saxophones and less consciously moved by the sound of guitars. Most people love songs played on guitars but when was the last time you felt specifically turned on by the sound of a guitar?
These are songs from a range of genres that feature interesting and unusual sounds coming out of horns. I had a lot of fun putting this show together because this is also a pretty solid reflection of my current listening tastes.

With music from:
-John Coltrane
-Colin Stetson
-James Blake
-Steve Reich
-Charles Mingus

and more!

From Afro-futurist flare to the darker edges of London’s club scene, we explore the shifting sound of London’s most exciting music scene.
