Mystic Rock’s Monday Afternoon Bath

Mystic Rock is British DJ / Collector of records of broad range, predominantly disco / dance music in its all forms, with psychedelic spectacles.

After 10 years as a techno DJ, 4 years as one of the original Club Kosmische DJs and 11 years in pop, he returns with The Thing, a night dedicated to playing the wildest & freakiest party music to be committed to tape:

For London Fields Radio, as it’s recorded on a Monday afternoon AND in a cafe, Mystic will be playing music to sooth and amplify your weekend hangovers, and in the spirit of the freedom suggested by the playlist he’ll be suggesting that you jump in the bath and listen to the show covered in suds, holding a glass of your favourite tipple, letting the cares of the workaday world disappear before the week has really even started, and drifting off into The Other.
Once you’re out of the bath, and fancy a disco, why not go here for more dance oriented sounds:http://www.mixcloud.com/mysticRock/

Charity Shoppe, Vol. 1

In the very first show, John and Ian take in West African Highlife, Scottish folk, wonky post punk covers, homemade ambient, Christian cults and ’80s pop. Several mistakes are made and some of the records skip. All in a days work, then!

We Are Words + Pictures, Vol. 3

September 2010

Michael Leader is back, drinking flat whites and enthusing about comics into a microphone at Wilton’s Cafe, the home of London Fields Radio. After a solo show back in August, here he is joined by My Cardboard Life creator Philippa Rice, who gives us all the gossip from the Birmingham Zine Festival. The pair also chat about comics news, events and releases, both upcoming and recent. Two featured comics in this episode are Joe List’s Freak Leap and the anthology Whores of Mensa.

Plus, there are tunes. Marvellous tunes.
