International Airspace: Visions of the Country

In this month’s show we skip through folk, jazz, classical and electronica to weave ambient vibes for a crisp and sunny day in the Wilton Way Cafe. We take you on a journey across the American folk of the Appalachian Mountains, the lush electronics of South Africa and the blustery pipes of the Scottish Highlands. Expect harps, synths and Japanese marimbas a-plenty.

International Airspace: Tribute to John Coltrane

In this month’s International Airspace we pay tribute to the visionary composer, bandleader and musician John Coltrane, who died 50 years ago this week.

Exploring his prolific back-catalogue we listen to some of his most profound works, sounds from the incredible artists closest to him, and the legacy he left behind.

International Airspace: LDN Jazz

This month the show is dedicated to the London Jazz scene, and some of the most exciting artists making music in the UK capital today.

London – second most culturally diverse city in the world and with a legendary bass-heavy club culture – is producing Jazz musicians who are drawing influences from everywhere and filling classic London venues such as Village Underground, XOYO and Scala. From Afro-futurist flare to the darker edges of London’s club scene, we explore the shifting sound of London’s most exciting music scene.

International Airspace: Winter Blues

It’s the first show 2017 and as we all combat the January blues, and with the infamous Blue Monday right around the corner, this show is dedicated to the stories, sounds and catharsis that only the Blues can offer.

From the banks of the Mississippi River to the deserts of the Sahara, we’re exploring the sounds and influence of Blues music wherever it appears from hard times in the sprawling urban city to the refugee camp.
